Just thought I'd let you know that having decided to rent out my spare room, I looked on the internet for suitable sites where I could advertise. Yours was the first site I looked at and I decided to advertise with you without looking any further at other websites. I spent about 2 mins working out an advert and uploaded it immediately at about 11am. I took a phone call ref the advert at 1pm and arranged a viewing for the next day. I took another phone call literally a couple of minutes after I'd put the phone down from the first call, and proceeded to take a further 'serious' enquiry the next day too. So, I thought I'd let you know that the first person who called and viewed the room has just moved in for the beginning of a short-term let - and all from an advert that had been placed just 2 hours before his phone call to me a couple of weeks ago. I'm just thrilled with the service you offer and my new lodger is thrilled with finding his new temporary home.

Arranging my housemate through SPAREROOM has worked out so well he's still here and set to remain for the foreseeable: any time I have a vacancy, SPAREROOM will be my first choice. in fact, in this case, communication was so good and complete that I even arranged the let and had him move in while I was away: confidence which was completely justified. I wouldn't do that every time but it shows how well it can work. My lodger has commented that my SR profile gave him a really helpful and accurate impression, so that he knew this was the place to go for. Feedback from other people I contacted was that they were equally clear it wasn't quite what they needed - so no wasted time in looking, just a few emails and the right one here! So I'll keep the profile on file and use it again next time.

Ad was placed around 4.30pm...he was viewing by 5.30pm...and he moves in in about 2 weeks time. Never expected to find someone so fast...certainly didnt expect it to happen in within an hour...Excellent

Just thought you might want to know that I decided to rent a room out yesterday afternoon, then found your website and placed an ad. Then straight after placing an ad I did a search and found someone who fitted the bill and so texted him. Long story short he was on my doorstep to view a half hour later and we had a cup of tea and a chat etc ... and later that evening, he phoned to take the room. Ad was placed around 4.30pm ..he was viewing by 5.30pm ... it was all sorted after that and he moves in in about 2 weeks time. Never expected to find someone so fast ... thought it could take weeks as I am quite particular etc ... certainly didnt expect it to happen in within an hour lol. Excellent

I placed an advert for a housemate on SpareRoom.co.uk and, after a couple of days with plenty of views but no enquiries, I decided to upgrade to a bold listing. Literally within an hour of doing this, I received a phone enquiry and just a few short hours later I was welcoming a new housemate into my house. Coincidence? My lettings manager is finding that he's getting on average 3 to 4 times the enquiries that he would get for the same ad spend with another website

I had registered with a rival database a few months ago which, although recorded a number of 'hits' against my listing, had not really translated them into bodies through the door. However, it may also have been because I wasn't using photographs. My experience with you has been a lot more positive. The first thing is that when we had removed a listing, we got a phone call from one of you saying 'is there a problem, can we help?' This was much appreciated. The second thing that we really liked was the facilities for managing selection criteria on the database, both for us and for them. The third thing we liked was the ability of the automatically generated correspondence to break down responses and possible leads according to widened criteria. Once again, many thanks and a toast to your database architect.

People with flats to rent were organised and informative - bringing photos, listing their rental amount on signs. I scheduled several appointments and ended up visiting a flat straight after the speed flatmating event - and I ended up taking the flat and am still living there 10 months later and am good friends with the girls i moved in with.

I have attended (speedflatmating twice...Both times i had more fun than a general night at the pub.

I have attended twice, once to find a place and once to off load the place. Both times i had more fun than a general night at the pub. Mostly due to the licence to just go up and talk to anyone there. When i was looking for a place i was justifiably nervous with using gumtree due to scams. I found it much more reassuring meeting real people. Of most benefit was getting to meet a lot of people in a short time with minimal effort. I personally like to choose where I live by the people first and then the place. So it was good to see if you get along with those peddling their place. That night resulted in successfully finding a good place to live.

I actually did meet my current flatmates through the event and live and get on well with them now.

Basically, I moved to London about 6 months ago to start a new job and after having the luxury of being able to stay with my father for the first couple of months I did eventually want to move out. I was recommended coming to speedflatmating by a friend and after him registering us, I came along to Gigalum in Clapham South one evening. I was pleasantly surprised about how relaxed it was and I thought the setup and organisation of the event was excellent. I actually did meet my current flatmates through the event and live and get on well with them now. I was there recently as well looking for a new flatmate as one is moving out and again I had a successful evening. I would definitely come back in the future should I be looking again and I just hope it is successful enough to expand into other areas and give other people a great opportunity to network and find flatmates.

I met a number of really nice people (both looking for a room and offering a room) and felt comfortable chatting to just about everyone...the location was great and really easy to get to. All members of the spareroom.co.uk staff were fantastic, really approachable and friendly. The pricing of the event was just right; I liked the fact that confidence could be heightened with a free drink!
